anti-heal can negate Roadhog's sustain from Take a Breather
.

Short-range spread weapon. Medium-range projectile that explodes into the weapon's short-range primary fire.
Drag a targeted enemy to you.
Heal yourself and reduce damage taken.
Damage and knock back enemies in front of you.
By landing Hook
, Roadhog can drop enemies out of the space, and if Hook
lands on anything other than the enemy tank, he can almost certainly secure a pick.
With Take a Breather
, Roadhog can play to the side or to positions where allied heals are hard to reach. By changing his angle, Hook
becomes easier to land.
Roadhog generally wants to land Hook
on someone other than the enemy tank, but while a tank stands in front of Roadhog, he struggles to target the backline. Roadhog isn't that strong at gaining an advantage in tank-versus-tank, so applying pressure with your tank makes it easier to steer things in your favor.
Roadhog's durability relies on Take a Breather
, so using heroes with anti-heal makes him easier to kill. Also, using heroes with burn effects lets you make use of the anti-heal passive, making it easier to disrupt the healing of Take a Breather
.
Using long-range heroes who struggle to be brought into Hook
range, or heroes who can survive even when pulled by Hook
, reduces Roadhog's chances at a pick. The damage of Hook
+ primary fire will bring 250-HP-or-higher heroes to critical health but they can generally survive it.
Roadhog's Hook
does not pierce barriers, so heroes with a barrier can build space that nullifies Hook
. Using the barrier in sync with the enemy Roadhog's Hook
cooldown status makes it easy to gain a big advantage.
