Tracer's Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths

  • Very high burst damage from primary fire at close range.

    Tracer's primary fire has short range but very high damage up close. By staying close and aiming for the head, she can actually put out DPS comparable to Bastion's Configuration: AssaultConfiguration: Assault.

  • Disruption via BlinkBlink and RecallRecall.

    Tracer avoids enemy attacks well through small blinks.

  • Fast ultimate charge for Pulse BombPulse Bomb.

    Tracer's ultimate requires the fewest charge points of any hero in Overwatch. If she can deal about the same damage as other heroes, she can get her ultimate faster than any of them.

How to Counter

  • Use heroes with turrets.

    Tracer can only deal damage at close range, so when a turret is placed far away, it's hard for her to destroy it. Also, Tracer has the lowest health of all heroes, so going in to destroy a turret is itself a big risk for her.

  • Use heroes that can easily keep distance.

    Using heroes that can fly into the air or have movement abilities means that even when Tracer harasses you, her short range lets you temporarily endure it.
